THE ISRAEL PHILATELIC FEDERATION

AN INVITATION TO JOIN THE FAMILY OF ISRAELI PHILATELISTS

There are in Israel around 25 collectors' club, as well as some youth clubs. The members get together on regular fixed days. There are also some national associations that deal with specialized philately. All these organizations come under the umbrella of the Israel Philatelic Federation, a non-profit organization.

ACTIVITIES OF LOCAL CLUBS

- Exchange of stamps and envelopes, in weekly or twice monthly meetings.
- Lectures of long-time collectors on their collections.
- Exhibition of members' collections.
- Social meetings between members.

ACTIVITIES OF NATIONAL FEDERATIONS

The Society of the Postal History of the Holy Land publishes an all-English quarterly bulletin, with emphasis on new discoveries. It also publishes philatelic research books on the subject. The Israel Association of Thematical Collectors (AYELET) also has a publication in Hebrew and organizes public auctions between its members. "Judaica" publishes an information sheet, which includes new judaica stamps printed worldwide. All the national associations organize occasional get-together for all their members.

THE YOUTH CLUBS

Youth clubs operate in schools, municipal libraries, alongside regular philatelic clubs, or as part of the municipality's enrichment courses. The children take part in philatelic games, quizzes, watch movies of philatelic instruction and learn how to organize collections for exhibition. Around the end of the school year, the children exhibit their achievements in a local exhibition and the best ones are invited to exhibit at a national exhibition. In the clubs organized by the Israel Philatelic Federation, the children learn about philately according to an exact previously set program.

RIGHTS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE ISRAEL PHILATELIC FEDERATION

Every collector member of the Federation has the right to:
- Receive a copy of the "Shovel" the magazine of the Israeli philatelists (6x per year) without any extra pay.
- Take part in national or international philatelic exhibitions.
- Use the library of the Federation in Tel Aviv, which consists of hundreds of magazines and philatelic catalogues and books of the whole world. Loan are also possible by mail
- To receive aid in the case of litigation in relation to acquisitions in philatelic stores or public auctions.
- Participation without any extra pay, to annual events like the Philatelic Day Convention, the Annual Conference, Youth Day, Philatelic Fairs.
- Receive help in the organization of local philatelic exhibitions.
- Vote and be voted for the different Federation institutions.

OBLIGATIONS

- Annual membership fee.
- Promotion of philately in the country, to the best of his abilities.
- Keep to the rules of ethical behavior in change/sale, purchase of stamps.
